BVRG is a small regional gallery in south eastern New South Wales Australia. The gallery showcases contemporary Australian visual culture with up to ten exhibitions annually. In 2015 the gallery expands its footprint as the cultural outpost on Australia's WILDERNESS COAST and will launch two project spaces within exciting new community developments.
The BVRG manages the collection of the Bega Valley Arts & Craft Society and the Shirley Hannan Trust.
The gallery also administers the biannual Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award, a unique prize which focus' on realistic portraiture and has a non acquisitive prize of $50,000.
In 2014 the BVRG announced a new annual prize, 'The Shirl' National Youth Portraiture Prize, aimed at engaging young artists, 18 - 25 and with an acquisitive prize of $10,000. Each winning work will be added to the gallery's permanent collection.
The Friends of the Gallery is an unincorporated, not for profit fundraising committee that is run independently of the BVRG and exists to raise money for the gallery to purchase artwork for the permanent collection.
The focus of the BVRG permanent collection is contemporary portraiture and landscape.
This online store exists as a portal for members to purchase membership, tickets to events and special fundraising opportunities.
